MIKE STAINES

Mike Staines is a creative technologist with over 20 years experience across the digital and IT industries.

CTO of the technology group HUB with offices in London and Porto Alegre, Mike has designed and architected applications, frameworks and stand-alone experiential solutions for enterprise and mid-market brands such as Coca-Cola, Samsung, Visa Europe, Pfizer, DairyCo, Liquitex, Barclaycard, Berkeley Homes, Entertainment One and the Arts Council of England, and has had digital applications featured in 3 of the previous Olympic Games.

Possessing in-depth knowledge of SMB, Mike and his team of designers, developers and content creators work for over 75 small businesses in the UK, Europe and South America, and whilst enjoying the challenge of larger, visible brand-led projects, gets equal fulfilment from smaller, dynamic operations with unique outlooks and ideas.

With specialist skills in user experience design, educational and virtual learning environments, immersion design, application development and cross-platform integration, Mike is currently pursuing conceptual development in the areas of world building, mixed-reality augmentation and complex wearable interaction. As a serial entrepreneur with several successful exits, Mike currently holds interests in several technology-based start-ups and mature businesses contributing with proactive managerial, creative and developmental consultancy.

Mike is a fellow of Royal Society of Art having been nominated by Professor Malcolm Garrett RDI (former Chairman of the Royal Designers for Industry), has a bachelors in Media Arts from University of Plymouth and an MA in Arts and Media Practice from Westminster.
